The FIRE movement

The FIRE movement (Financial Independence, Retire Early) is a personal‑finance philosophy focused on aggressively saving and investing—often 50–70% of income—to build enough assets to cover living expenses without full‑time work.

The modern idea grew from earlier financial‑independence literature like Your Money or Your Life (1990s) and was is now popular on social media platform like reddit , X and communities like Early Retirement Extreme and the “4% rule” discussions from the Trinity Study.

At its core, FIRE is about aligning spending with values, building a high savings rate, and reaching a point where work becomes optional.

Why We Exist

We found the FIRE movement through online communities like r/FIRE and r/personalfinance. It wasn’t just the math — it was the discipline, the mindset, and the execution that stuck with me.

Do I actually want to “retire early”? Not really. I like working with my hands. I need to tinker, build, fix, and learn — or I feel aimless.

For me, FIRE isn’t about stopping. It’s about choosing. Once I’m financially comfortable, I want the freedom to travel, try new hobbies, and think less about money.

The deeper reason I built this is simple: financial literacy is missing around us — not just for younger folks but for everyone. People aren’t taught how money works, and even the teachers often don’t know. Money runs so much of life, and most people are left to figure it out alone.

is my attempt to make that easier. A practical, clear, do‑it‑yourself way to see where you stand — and learn what it would take to get comfortable.
