How to use Schedule Publish in Document Authoring (DA)
This demo showcases how authors can use the Schedule Publish feature in Document Authoring (DA) to queue content for automatic publishing at a future date and time.
Schedule Publish is a feature-flag plugin available in the Prepare menu that enables authors to plan and automate their content publishing workflow without manual intervention at the time of go-live.
For detailed setup and configuration, see the official documentation at https://docs.da.live/administrators/guides/prepare-menu/schedule-publish
This demo takes you through a journey from authors view to :
- Open a document or sheet in DA
- Click the Prepare menu button
- Select Schedule Publish from the menu
- Choose a future date and time for the publish
- Confirm the schedule to queue the content for automatic publishing
- Optionally cancel or reschedule a pending publish
Setup & Configuration
- Schedule Publish must be explicitly enabled in your prepare config before it becomes available to authors.
- Add a row to the prepare tab in your DA Site Config or DA Org Config with only the title filled in: Schedule publish
- Because Schedule Publish is an Adobe-provided plugin, the path field is not required. DA will look up the plugin automatically by its title.
- Use the ref field in your prepare config to limit Schedule Publish to a specific audience, such as UAT testers, before rolling it out broadly.
Key Points
- Scheduled publishes run against the content as it exists at the time of the scheduled publish, not at the time of scheduling. Make sure the document is in its final state before the scheduled time.
- When you schedule publish content individually, DA previews that content automatically so there is always something to publish at the scheduled time.
- You can cancel or reschedule a pending publish by opening the Schedule Publish plugin again on the same document.
